At Basil's Forever Sofa, we are dedicated to rescuing Romanian dogs from the desperate and horrific situations they find themselves in, whether they are on the streets or in kill shelters, we want to help find them a loving home. Our predominant aim is to support dogs who have been overlooked by other rescues for a variety of reasons: they may be older, bigger or just too 'plain'.
As smaller, younger or short-furred dogs are easier to keep and are 'lower risk' in terms of their care, the same finance and space resources can be used to offer support to a greater number of dogs. We applaud and work closely with other rescuers who help dogs that are generally easier to home, however, our mission at Basil's Forever Sofa is to work extra hard to find otherwise overlooked dogs the amazing homes they deserve.

Basil is our namesake as he was one of these very dogs - older and overlooked. We're lucky enough to have Basil to remind us of why we do this work every single day.
